History of English Language Teaching in Sudan

Abstract

This study is concerned with the problem of the deterioration of standard of English language in both level; basic level and secondary level. Secondary Schools have reduced opportunity for effective controlled exposure to and practice in the use of that language. It aims to investigate the Recognize to standard of English language from 1884 to date. The changing of educational ladder and its affect on EFL. Recognize the lack of qualified teachers and affected on learners. This study uses a quantitative method) for collection and analysis of research data. The data analysis of this study is conducted by the aid of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) after converting the data into numerical figures.The researcher has administered a questionnaire distributed to 20 teachers from different schools of basic and secondary level. . The results reveal There are so many difficulties that are faced by EFL learners in learning English . There are so many difficulties that are faced by EFL learners in learning English Replacement of educational ladder affects deterioration of the process of learning English Shortage of qualified teachers causes damage to the teaching and learning process . Qualified teachers help to improve the learning process This study suggests some recommendations such as Students should feel responsible for their own learning English language skills and they have to build their knowledge in it. Teachers should enroll in training and exert their maximum effort to overcome challenges and facilitate conditions to promote students skills.

المستخلص تتناول هذه الدراسة مشكلة تدهور مستوى اللغة الانجليزية في كلا المستويين المستوى الأساسي ، والمستوى الثانوي . قللت المدارس الثانوية من فرص التعرض الخاضع للرقابة الفعالة والممارسة في استخدام تلك اللغة . يهدف إلى التحقق في التعرف على مستوى اللغة الانجليزية من عام 1884 حتى الآن. تغيير السلم التعليمي وتأثيره على اللغة الانجليزية كلغة أجنبية التعرف على نقص المعلمين المؤهلين وتأثيرهم على المتعلمين. تستخدم هذه الدراسة المنهج الكمي لجمع وتحليل بيانات البحث. تم تحليل بيانات هذه الدراسة بمساعدة الحزمة الإحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية (SPSS ) بعد تحويل البيانات إلى أرقام عددية . أجرى الباحث استبياناً وزعا على 20 معلما من مدارس مختلفة من المستوى الأساسي والثانوي كشفت النتائج أن هناك العديد من الصعوبات التي يواجهها متعلمي اللغة الانجليزية كلغة أجنبية في تعلم اللغة الانجليزية ، ويؤثر استبدال السلم التعليمي على تدهور عملية تعلم اللغة الانجليزية يؤدي نقص المعلمين المؤهلين إلى الإضرار بعملية التدريس والتعلم . يساعد المعلمون المؤهلون في تحسين عملية التعلم تقترح هذه الدراسة بعض التوصيات مثل ـأن يشعر الطلاب بالمسؤولية عن تعالم مهارات اللغة الانجليزية الخاصة بهم وعليهم بناء معرفتهم بها يجب على المعلمين التسجيل في التدريب وبذل أقصى جهدهم للتغلب على التحديات وتسهيل الظروف لتعزيز مهارات الطلاب.
