Obstacles Facing Undergraduate Students in Communication (A case study – Faculties of Education

Abstract

Abstract This research addressed the topic of investigating the communication problems facing English undergraduate Sudanese students. The study aimed at shedding lights on the causes of communication weakness for English undergraduate students and to offer recommendations that might solve difficulties facing undergraduate English students in communication. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, literature review and case study approach through the computer program of SPSS, data which forwarded to analysis, were collected from students registered in Red Sea University, faculties of education. Several findings were caught by the study, of which the followings: English language teaching facing obstacles in Communication skills. Concentration in reading and writing is more than communication one of the reasons for the weakness of English undergraduate students in communication. Continuous motivation in undergraduates towards mastering English communication properly is an essential process. Based on the above findings; the study recommended the followings: Students have try to use English more than Arabic in their daily life. English students should get rid of their shyness and fear to speak English fluently. The High Education administration should improve the environment for English student's (providing tools). .

مستخلص تتناول هذه الدراسة موضوع يتعلق بالبحث في المشاكل المرتبطة بمهارة المخاطبة والتي تواجه الطلاب السودانيين قيد التخرج. وهدفت الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء على أسباب ضعف مهارة المخاطبة الإنجليزية التي يواجهها طلاب الكليات الجامعية قيد التخرج وما قد يسفر عن ذلك من توصيات تسهم في حل مثل هذه الصعوبات. إتبع الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي ومنهج الأدبيات السابقة ومنهج دراسة الحالة واستخدمت برنامج الإحصاء الحاسوبي (الحزم الإحصائية للعلوم الإجتماعية) من خلال البيانات التي تم جمعها من مجتمع الدراسة الذي تمثل في طلاب الكليات الجامعية قيد التخرج. توصل الباحث إلى عدد من النتائج ، من أهم هذه النتائج ما يلي : يواجه تعليم اللغة الإنجليزية عقبات أمام مهارة المخاطبة . يعد تركيز الطلاب على مهارتي القراءة والكتابة أكثر من تركيزهم على المخاطبة أحد أسباب ضعفهم في المخاطبة الانجليزية. التشجيع والحث المستمرين للطلاب قيد التخرج لإجادة مهارة التخاطب بشكل جيد عامل مهم. بناءاّ على ما توصل إليه الدارس من النتائج أعلاه ؛ توصي الدراسة بالتوصيات التالية: توصي الدراسة الطلاب باستخدام اللغة الانجليزية أكثر من العربية الأمة خلال حياتهم اليومية. ضرورة أن يتخلص الطلاب قيد التخرج من الحياء والخوف حتى يمكنهم التحدث بالإنجليزية بطلاقة. أهمية قيام إدارات التعليم العالي بتحسين البيئات الدراسة لطلاب اللغة الانجليزية من خلال ( توفير المعدات اللازمة).
